ROBUST GOVERNANCE

RISK MANAGEMENT

The Society has developed a new Risk Management Policy and Framework. This will align with Risk Management practices across the State, enhance visibility of risks, enable more efficient and effective risk  treatment and enable more accurate trend analysis.

Implementation of the Risk Management Policy and Framework has commenced with a series of workshops to identify key Strategic Risks across the Society. Implementation work will continue into financial year 2020/21.

The Society is committed to continually monitoring and improving the quality of its services.

The Program and Service Quality Team provides direction and support to Vinnies Services, embedding standard approaches to quality management and facilitating the sharing of expertise across teams.

Quality Action Groups operate across the major services areas of Homelessness, Disability and Health. During 2019/20 the groups met regularly to oversee the implementation of the Society’s Quality Framework, share knowledge and monitor quality improvements.

The Framework guides the quality management process, leading teams to identify and drive improvement in terms of evidence-based practice, policy and systems implementation and accreditation processes. Services accredited in 2018/19 continued to track improvements ensuring strong compliance against relevant Industry standards.

In August 2019, the Society partnered with the Clinical Excellence Commission to co-facilitate a successful Quality and Clinical Governance workshop. The workshop brought together representatives from the Board’s advisory committees, Executive and service staff to scope out future actions to ensure strong clinical governance across the organisation.
